I have tried almost all of the Indian restaurants in the DC area and can say this one serves the poorest Indian food. It doesn't even seem like an Indian restaurant...more Nepalese, I think. The food had no flavor at all. I orderd the Gobi (cauliflower) and they just brought out a bowl of boiled cauliflower with turmeric to give it a yellow color. The dal was just water. The service was also disappointing...it wasn't even busy but they made us wait for a table. I can't believe this place has been in Dupont Circle for years. I have passed by it many times and decided to try it one day...bad idea. It's a shame that tourists probably go to this place and think that is what Indian food taste like.

the food here is awesome, my only complaint is the siesta. i would love to come here during the lunch hours as well as for dinner. ive always had great food and service at Polo and would recommend it anyone!

I once ordered chicken curry at the Polo India Club. When my meal was brought to me, my rice was half cooked, crunchy, and cold. When I cut into my chicken, it was pink! I didn't wait to complain, I didn't wait to negotiate my ridiculously high bill. I paid what I had to pay and made a solemn vow I would never return nor let my loved ones patron this establishment.

I used to order from this place because I worked just a few doors down. The food is mediocre at best and overpriced. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is all right but not great. But the service is terrible. Indifferent at best. Sometimes they act like they're annoyed that you're there. I don't recommend it.
