2 Dinner Coincidence
We made a reservation for Thursday night and were seated with about 3 minutes of our time. Dinner was outstanding, my wife had the spinach ravioli and I the veal chop suggestion...outstanding. Waiter courteous and many of the staff attended us thruout dinner. Coincidentally, friends invited us to dinner on Saturday and they picked the same restaurant. Party of 4 seated immediately, 4 different dishes pleased everyone. Good hum going here, enjoyed it twice!

Great food, very fresh!
Yes the food is a bit pricey but it was quite good. I had an appetizer and a pizza. I loved watching them make the pizzas and I liked that the kitchen was visible. We were there on a very busy night and even though the place was packed, the service was quite good. Our waiter (Seth) was very attentive to us even though it looked like he was the only waiter in the whole place! If you're looking for a nice Italian dinner, go here, and get the pizza!

Great food, great value, decent service once you actually sit down
Went last Saturday night with a party of 4. Made to wait 30 min past our 8pm reservation time and when we were finally seated could see that there were 5-6 tables we could've been seated at. Also, the bar service was poor while we were waiting - bartender was just standing around ignoring us and then came over and served the guy next to us. BUT, once we sat down everything was FABULOUS! They gave us extra wine for free, the food was well-priced and not expensive. The waiter was patient and made excellent suggestions. I recommend the manicotti entree. Love that they have wines by the half-liter! I'd suggest going here on a not-so-busy night. I think this place will do well.

Unforgivable service
I always read reviews about negative service & think that it's the least of a restaurants problems as long as the food is good. After having eaten there twice, I can honestly say that's not true. Suffice it to say, the food is good, good enough to go back a second time, but I cannot get over the service. My main point of contention is having they ran out of the $6 glass of Super Tuscan that we requested was replaced with a $15 glass of Pinot Noir when the waiter told us he could suggest something similar. I knew when he brought the bottle over that he was fleecing us, but to say something would have been awkward. There are other issues, like a poorly trained bartender and servers who choose side work over service, but to rob your table like that is unforgivable. I have been in the service industry for over 15 years, and I am tired of feeling like I need to announce that every time I sit down. That is how Potenza makes me feel.

More attention to details needed
We had dinner at Potenza on Saturday night. Great enthusiasm turned into great disappointment. Seating near door felt like sitting in a cafeteria... cold, loud, absolutely no warmth. We asked to move and were told no table available for 1.5 hrs. 20 minutes later table opened up. Food servers gave wrong food to everybody at table; waiter brought dessert for table and forgot to bring back plates. On top of this, the food was mediocre. I would not recommend this restaurant. Too many other good restaurants in DC.
