Red Mei is a great Thai restaurant to order in or casually stop-by in Old Town, Alexandria. My husband and I often stop by on our strolls through town. The place is family owned and operated, the owner and the staff are very friendly. I've tried most things on the menu, but my favorite is the pad-thai. Everything has the right amount of enticing flavor and generous portion size for the reasonable amount you pay. Your food is prepared fresh, right in front of you so you know it is clean and you have a peace of mind, unlike other Asian restaurants. If you are looking for a casual evening with your friends or are looking for something fast and affordable I highly recommend Red Mei.

The usually fast service and fresh delicious food is the best value in Old Town. My favorites are the Spicy Chicken and the Sweet & Sour Chicken. Not too spicy and not too sweet. Their portions are right on. I've gotten my coworkers addicted as well! We look forward to a Red Mei meal at least once every other week if not weekly.

I really love ordering from this place. They have a reasonable delivery range and they'll make the Pad Thai nice and hot - just like I like it. It's the best Thai place in town for the price.

I have to disagree with the previous reviewer who disliked their Pad Thai. I rather like their version, especially with the shrimp. I order it nearly every time I get food there. Their delivery service is also very convenient and usually quite quick as well.

The pad thai is not recommended. I never thought that you could ruin such a simple dish, but Red Mei in Alexandria sure succeeded in doing so. Even the fresh spring rolls were a not satisfying and both are my favorite asian dishes. Thumbs down!
