We've been going there since it opened!

We've followed Chef Testa from McLean. Eaten there many times, spend all our important occasions & holidays there. When we want to impress out of company, we take them to LaPerla. Haven't had a bad experience yet. The food is always great & the menu extensive. Highly recommend it for any special occasion.

    Not recommended

The staff are excellent, but the food is substandard for the price.

    Excellent!

La Pearla was recommended to me by the hotel staff while I was in DC on business. The food is excellent! The only quasi-negative I have is that it's not a lot of food for the price. I did enjoy meeting the owner/cook, who comes out and talks to each diner. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

    Poor experience

As we were seated for our 6:30 reservation (made weeks in advance) our waiter informed us that they had a private party at 8:00 and would be closing to the public. Not a good way to begin an expensive meal. We felt like we were in some Sinatra-ish 60s place where garlic and red sauced joint that was spruced up. Our shrimp appetizer was okay and my husband's veal was good; my ravioli wasn't not good. We would never go back. For the same money, we had an incredible meal a few nights earlier at Charlie Palmer Steak.

    Great Italian Dining

Being a transported NY'er who is also Sicilian, I often found the Italian cuisine dining experience in DC to be disappointing -- that was until I found La Perla. Vittoria (Chef - Owner) is an incredible artist who really delivers a consistent culinary experience reminiscent of my mothers' and Nonna's Sunday dinners - the freshness of his ingredients -- attention to detail and the warm embrace of the staff make visiting here a must. Eat here often and always bring friends, family and business colleagues. See you there!

    Superb Restaurant

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. It is expensive but worth it. The menu is fabulous. You will not be disappointed.
