Sala Thai is worth a trip from N.C.
When we found Sala Thai on Dupont Circle about 5 years ago, we loved it. We made a special trip to D.C. from North Carolina around eating at Sala Thai about 4 years ago. Now the Dupont Circle venue has closed so we trekked over to the U Street location over the July 4th weekend and the food was just as scrumptious. The appetizers, Mee Krob and Pla Goong, are delicious. The menu offers many standard Thai dishes, but also has quite unique and mouth watering fare that you won't find at run-of-the-mill Thai restaurants. The dishes are delectable, the Mai Tai's are made with fresh juices and quite strong. We will soon make another trip to DC (8 hour drive) so that we can eat at Sala Thai once again!

Not that great really
So, they're nearby and deliver, but I have to say it's not that great. The food isn't bad, but is a little greasy and the portions are small for the price. Eh.

a great thai-me
We decided spur of the moment to grab dinner here an it ended up being one of my favorite meals of our trip! The food was excellent and the service was excellent. It was a nice atmosphere-very nice but relaxed.
