This restaurant is a great value and caters to people who like very different kinds of Thai food - my boyfriend loved his spicy beef dish while I was in heaven with my steamed fish. Be careful of the spiciness, but everything is fresh and the menu offers a great [select]ion. Only negative was the proximity to Courthouse Plaza - the sound of an electric door opening and closing somewhat dimmed the atmosphere. Would definitely return!

We've eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants around the DC area, and we think Sawadtee is one of the best. The food is consistently good and the service (whether eat-in or take-out) is always friendly and efficient. My favorite appetizers are Kao-Klook Spicy Coconut Rice and Papaya Salad (though I've never been disappointed with the other choices). I have too many favorite entrees to list here!

I would have to second the previous comments about this place. They are by far the best Thai restaurant in the Northern VA area. The food is top notch and the Thai Iced Tea is the best.

Sawatdee is by far the very best Thai restaurant in the Northern VA area, and I have been to many, many Thai restaurants in the area! They use the very best ingredients and the dishes are consistently excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Their takeout service is also exceptional - everything arrives promptly and steaming hot! I used to go to different places each week, now I only go to Sawatdee!

i have a gluten allergy and was very impressed at how helpful the staff was. one of the cooks came out and talked to me about ingredients and we determined that i could have certain items if they were modified. my food was made specially for me and the wait staff was very helpful. the location is a little hard to find in the dark because we came from the movie theatre and the front entranc eis hard to see. it was affordable, clean, great service, and good food. if you have celiac, get a thai triumph card and try out this place.
