This is the greatest food in the entire world
I have this so often and I really love this place. The waiters are so kind and the food is amazing.

Good not great
Place is pretty good. Preferable for lunch or take out. Decent neighborhood spot. But let's not go overboard on the food. If you really want great peking duck, then go to Peking Gourmet in Fall Church. Food here is mediocre - I think it survives because of its location rather than its food and service.

Awesome, Simply Awesome!
We have lived in Bethesda for over 12 years, and I think we have averaged about a meal a week at Shanghai Village. The orange chicken, crispy beef, crispy eggplant, are among our very favorites. Sometimes we think of moving into D.C., but each time we say to each other "but we will be farther from Shanghai Village"!

Shanghai Vil quality!
The food here is always excellent! The menu is quite varied and the proof of this restaurant's popularity is in witnessing the constant stream of fans coming throughthe doors and loyal repeat business. A great choice always!

Food was mediocre
The blandest Chinese food I have ever tasted. One waitress for 10 tables so service lacking. The restaurant should be inspected by the health dept!

Best Peking Duck in Town hands down
This is by far the best Peking duck restaurant in the D.C area hands down. The duck is consistently tender and moist, unlike most peking duck. The old chinese owner comes out personally and cuts and trims the duck for you.

Best Chinese in DC
The food at Shanghai Village is excellent! It is by far the best authentic Chinese restaurant in the DC area. The decor isn't anything special but the place is clean and the staff is very friendly. The owner and head chef will even come out and talk to customers throughout the day. I've been there six times and have seen him come out and shake hands nearly every time. With terrific food and a very friendly staff, Shanghai Village simply blows away the local competition.
