We had a fabulous meal, the owners' selection, for a large table of 8 plus 2 babies. Everyone was kind and patient with the little ones (who were well behaved). They expertly prepared and served appetizer followed by a lobster dish (with giant opened claws and tails), a steak dish and the grand finale entree, the tableside prepared Peking duck (with scallions and plum sauce)were simply out of this world! The owner and his wife are friendly, gracious and ever present, seeing that everything in their realm delights the customers. We highly recommend Shanghai Village!

I have this so often and I really love this place. The waiters are so kind and the food is amazing.

Place is pretty good. Preferable for lunch or take out. Decent neighborhood spot. But let's not go overboard on the food. If you really want great peking duck, then go to Peking Gourmet in Fall Church. Food here is mediocre - I think it survives because of its location rather than its food and service.

We have lived in Bethesda for over 12 years, and I think we have averaged about a meal a week at Shanghai Village. The orange chicken, crispy beef, crispy eggplant, are among our very favorites. Sometimes we think of moving into D.C., but each time we say to each other "but we will be farther from Shanghai Village"!

The food here is always excellent! The menu is quite varied and the proof of this restaurant's popularity is in witnessing the constant stream of fans coming throughthe doors and loyal repeat business. A great choice always!

The blandest Chinese food I have ever tasted. One waitress for 10 tables so service lacking. The restaurant should be inspected by the health dept!

This is by far the best Peking duck restaurant in the D.C area hands down. The duck is consistently tender and moist, unlike most peking duck. The old chinese owner comes out personally and cuts and trims the duck for you.
