Atmosphere and not much else
Frankly, the food isn't that good and the sandwiches are boring, the pastry something out of the back of a truck. But there are positives, such as the coffee being better and more varied than chains (is that a recommendation?). However, it's the ambience since you can go there and spread the newspaper outside, muse, and depending upon the time of day/evening, catch live music or find a pickup game of chess, etc. Just go there and relax.
