    Mediocre crabcake

I studied the menu and decided on the crabcake sandwich for lunch. It was disappointing, bready and minced meat. I could barely taste the crabmeat. It was definitely less than I expected.

    Reviews misleading

I researched the restaurant, red the review - so chose this place for dessest Baked Alaska. I ordered and in front of me was an iced cream cake - cake, then carmel, then ice cream with a whipped cream topping. This is not baked Alaska!! Nothing was flaming, nothing was broiled just and overpriced ice cream cake I could get at a local Baskin Robins! I said something to the bartender/waiter - he said it was "their version" of Baked Alaska. Apparently, he was clueless as to what Baked Alaska was! I label that as false advertising, therefore give this place a bad rateing.

    Love it!!

I agree with the previous reviewer. I live in the neighborhood and was strolling along 8th Street on a Saturday and the sign outside "Best Crabcake in DC" caught my eye, so I went in. I was not disappointed. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is extremely comfortable and quaint. The calamari is wonderful! My husband and I have it everytime we eat there. I hope the level of food and service remains consistent. The Starfish Cafe is definitely a little gem.

    Beautiful and Comfortable!

I ran acrss this restaurant by mistake on a rainy afternoon while waiting for a late meeting. The atmosphere here is warm and comfortable - not at all overwhelming. The staff is friendly and quick with service. The food, oh, the food - delicious indeed! I simply could not finish it all. It was fresh and delicious. I have since been back twice and have not disappointed yet.
