    Less than Average

We got the Chicken Korma delivered. It came pretty quickly. But the sauce was greasy, separating, and not like any other Chicken Korma I've had. It was wholly unappetizing. The naan was not bad.

    What a day

We came in and sat outside for 10 minutes desperately waiting for some one to greet us. When we were about to leave, finally, some one do come in *without a smile in his face) and give us a menu. Water came in few more minutes later. We ordered from the 5 minutes service menu, but got it in 20 minutes. To be frank, their food is nothing special. I have to say as the other customer, it's simply average. It was not the waiting we did in the beginning. I know that next I will be trying the other ones in the same block, since there seem to be two more.

    I'm a regular

As others have mentioned, the service is excellent. A friendly, good-natured, informative staff. Service is usually quite quick, a real feat when there's a convention in town. I've only had their vegetarian dishes, and have usually been happy with my order. On the rare occasions that I have not been, the staff have made it right.

    Decent Indian food

This place offers up fresh ingredients and a decent atmosphere. The service was adequate. The biggest surprise was definitely the poorly cooked basmati rice, a real staple of Indian meals. The naan and samosas were decent. Our main complaint was the lack of spices in the dish. Since we've only been to this restaurant once, we're not sure what level of spicy they are capable of, but we had hoped for more.

    Great food, fantastic service!

When I called Taste of India on Christmas night, I fully expected a surly worker on the other end of the phone. Instead, the man with whom I spoke was friendly and informative. When our food was delivered (not even 15 minutes after I called!), it was absolutely delicious! We'll definitely be eating at Taste of India more often!

    Best Indian Restaurant in DC

I've dined-in & had carry-out/delivery and each time, I've been unbelievably pleased with the service & food. They are patient (e.g. will explain the ingredients in dishes, make suggestions based upon your stated likes/dislikes, etc.) and always courteous -- not easy to find in DC! The food is high-quality and perfectly spiced. Today, I ordered Chicken Vindaloo, which is traditionally a very hot dish, but I asked for the heat to be taken down just a bit --- and that's EXACTLY what they did! It was hands-down the best Chicken Vindaloo I've ever had. Ever!
