    a neighborhood place/quick bite

there are few dishes which are decent, though the quality of the food is not always consistent... the service is very average. the place is just around the corner, so we do a lot of take-outs.

We ate and were pushed out.

I am so pissed at these people's rudeness. The restaurant was crowded with four people at the bar waiting for our table. The staff put four wine glasses at a small table seating two next to us. They waited for us to finish so that they could move our table to the other and seat the four. When we finished our meal we were asked if that was all. I asked for dessert and was told that they had no dessert. Well, I'll take some ice cream (a large assortment on the menu). We have no ice cream. No matter what we asked for they said that they didn't have it. I looked over at the coffee machine and asked for coffee. No coffee. No nothing. Just pay and get out. Now. I couldn't believe it. I have never ever been treated in such a rude manner by the staff of any restaurant. We spoke with the manager and our waiter and another wait person we told them that what they were doing was horrible. They just starred at us. Then we saw them carry a dessert to another table. That was it. My partner went ballistic. They told us that that was the last dessert, that the chef didn't make any desserts that day, that these people had ordered the dessert ahead of time, etc. etc. Bottom line. We were not only brazenly lied to but treated like trash. Avoid this place like the plague. They don't deserve your business. If you must have Thai you have other choices. The food was not bad. The rudeness insured that we shall never return.

    Delicious

This is my favorite Thai place. Every dish I have had has been very good.

    Great DC Find

This was a great DC find! I've been here with lots of my friends and everyone always loves it. My favorites are the Tom Ka Chicken (coconut soup), the seafood Pad Thai, and the Gaeng Ped Yang (duck in red curry sauce). I also usually get the DC-9 to drink, goes well with the spicy food. My only issues is that the tables are a little close together, and I don't like to sit in their front booth because the light from the neon sign is too bright. Overall, a great restaurant.

    Not at all authentic

I was very disappointed by the meal we ordered from Thai Tanic. The penang curry tasted like a cross between Thai and Mexican, and the rice in the black rice pudding was undercooked.

    great food, great price

I love the food here, staff is great, place is always packed (but Ive never had to wait for a table...there is always one open). The only thing is that tables are super close together, so its not the place for an intimate dinner. Again, food and service are terrific.
