    Charming atmosphere meets great food

We love The Old Siam for so many reasons! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is divine, the restaurant delivers, and the food is always piping hot and very quickly prepared!!! Amazing Thai food and consistently wonderful.

    Very Good

The Old Siam is reasonably priced and the food is very good. It isn't the very best Thai food I've ever had but it's definitely good enough to keep me coming back for more. Also, the food comes out fairly quickly so that's another plus. Good and fresh.

    OK but not great

I agree with the previous reviewer: the food was good, but it was not excellent and for the prices charged it should have been excellent. The taste seemed more like what you'd get in a food court in a mall in California (hopefully that's not what Asian food is like generally outside of CA? I just got here). Specifically I had veggetarian versions of the following: pad thai--dry, mild, mediocre tom yum soup--spicy but I liked it panang tofu--"ok" good, not great

    Good neighborhood restaurant

This is one of the best neighborhood restaurants on capitol hill. Located right on 8th street, there is always seating even without reservations, and if you're lucky, you can get one of the several tables outside. The food is good. Not extraordinaire, but definitely good. The service is friendly, and fairly fast as with other Thai restaurants. The athmosphere is tasteful enough for a date or a nice evening with friends, but not super chic. It's a great place because you can have a quick dinner or pick up carry out on a week night, or something nicer with friends on a weekend.
