Excellent!
I've been been living in downtown DC for two months, regularly disappointed with the absolutely sub-par dreck in nearby Chinatown, where methinks the cooks are Irish. Having read the MenuPages review and studying the menu, my wife and I ate at TNR earlier this evening. Prices were far less than anything we've tried in DC! the food was very good; Fried dumplings, Pan fried noodles and Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce all were far better than we have been experiencing. I'm a great fan of Chinese cuisine and TNR hit all my "buttons." The genuinely concerned staff could not have been more attentive to our needs. Wonderful and will return soon. BTW; Ping-Pong, in Chinatown area is exempt from my scathing, albeit deserved criticism and it's highly recommended. So there...

Surprise
TNR Cafe came up in a food search before our recent trip to DC. I loved their website pictures but when we pulled up outside I was concerned we'd chosen somewhere small and uninviting. I was more than pleased with the cafe's staff and quaint inside. The food was exceptional and generous. We'll definitely be back. It goes to show you should never judge a book by it's cover. A+ all around.
