Best coffee in DC!
Tryst is fantastic for a veeeery early morning weekend brekkie and coffee, a mid-afternoon sandwich and place to do some work, or a few drinks in the evening. It's pretty laid back and they play good music. I used to avoid going in at night too because of the smoke, but thankfully that's not a problem anymore now that DC has its no smoking law! Table service can sometimes be a bit slow, but the servers are very cool. And the coffee is excellent.

Great food, too smokey
Their sandwiches are delicious and unique. And it's great they have free wifi during the week. The coaches are cozy and pretty comfortable. Unfortunately, allowing smoking during the day is quite annoying and they have inadequate ventilation so you wind up smelling of smoke after you leave... even if it is 2pm in the afternoon!
