We went there for dinner tonight. With an OpenTable reservation, we had a table in less than 60 seconds after walking in the door, with 10 people sitting there waiting. I found this rather curious as I could see 8 or 9 empty tables. Service was very prompt, but not rushed. We ordered the fish & chips, to share. Upon inquiry, the waiter said it was a large piece, 10-12 ounces, easily enough to share. It was closer to a pound, nicely done, along with the chips—none of it greasy at all—and served on a hot plate. It was just right for the two of us. We were in and out in about an hour. My only complaint is the draft beer selection, which is almost non-existent. They have a separate bar menu, listing 15 “draughts”, most of which are ales or porters. This was not a good sign. My wife had a Harps, in a bottle, but I passed altogether. I tasted hers, not a bad substitute, but still not the same. It seems every surface in the place is hard, meaning if it were crowded the reverberation could test your otologist’s skills at eardrum restoration. All in all, we liked the place. The food is good—NOT fabulous—and priced ACCORDINGLY. The whole dinner cost $25, including the dollar to park. Definitely going back to try some other things. Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s in a shopping mall. There is plenty of parking, lots of places to pick up a pastry treat to take home for breakfast, catch a movie, or do some shopping. It is also 1 block from the Ballston Metro (subway) station.
