    Very Unique Atmosphere

I fell in love with Vapiano's upon entering the door. It is so unique the charge cared that they give you when you enter is such a great idea nothing I ever experienced before. It is so relaxing it is definitly a place to go to after a long day with the kids or at work. I would also recommend it for a hot date. The ffod is so delicious and the fact that they make right in front of makes you comfortavle about know what is actually going on in the kitchen. Check it out and write your own review.

    Great $ & Ambiance

The idea of the place is fabulous if you're not the stuffy type who want's to be served by waiters, although I didn't see my buzzer go off and the cook bought me my pizza anyway. Nice laidback atomosphere, U get your order card when U enter, you order your food and sit anywhere you want. It's great. No pressure, just relaxing. Never seen a spot like this. I hear a lot of great comments about the pasta, however I ordered the Pizza and it was WAY too saltly and not what I expected and I love pizza. Anyway, the amibance made up of for it. Don't know how long it will last because the prices are so CHEAP when you consider the location is in a major DC Hotspot so check it out while you can. I'm gonna check out the H-street location as well. My wife loved it too and she's very hard to please.

    ymmmm

I have been to vapiano's twice and it was delicious both times. I like the cook in front of you idea, because not only does it cut down on costs, but you also can watch the cooks and have it made to order, aka more of this, add that, less of that. All in all, I really like it and it might just become one of my regulars!

pasta dishes that are really fresh!

Absolutely delicious and fresh ingredients in all the great dishes. You must have patience since you are standing as you order and are waiting for your food to be made as opposed to sitting at a table drinking wine and ordering from a waiter. That should not deter you if you want great really fresh food made as you watch. If it does, then this is not the place for you. Food is fabulous and an amazing value!

    Food's good, self service slow

On our way to a show at the Warner Theater we stopped at Vapiano DC's Chinatown. It was probably a bit too far from the theater district but we wanted to try it. Upon entering you are issued a charge card which you use for everything you purchase at the restaurant. Not a bad idea especially for a large group who wants to pay with seperate checks - I wasn't but it really didn't matter as I just collect all 4 cards and paid as if it was one check upon leaving. You order from various stations (pasta, pizza, and bar) and charge on your individual card. The food was maybe above average and the prices were in-line for that type of restaurant. Tipping was minimal, not emphasised and was done only at the stations not on the total check. The bar was understaffed and drink took forever to get. We order a couple of lattes to go which took way too long to prepare. I think I would only go again if I had a large group and had concerns about how the check was to be divided. This is an upscale Sabarro as far as I am concerned.
