I have never had a disappointing meal at Vaso's. The lamb chops are the best in town. And, so are the homemade desserts. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would eat there every night.

All of the food is great but the stuffed veal chop is to die for. When my family comes to visit they always ask if we can go to Vaso's. My daughter says she dreams about the stuffed veal chop. I also love the crab stuffed shrimp. Vaso, the owner and chef, is as friendly as can be. We started going there when she first opened.she did the cooking, clean up and served the food. She has really worked hard to take this little landmark, The Dixie Pig, and offer a great neighborhood dining experience. It reminds me of eating in Europe. Relaxed and friendly. Plan to take your time. This is not a typical American restaurant. Reservations are good if it is a large party or you want to eat outside in nice weather but we have always gotten in without them

We've eaten at Vaso's Kitchen since it opened. We've never had a bad meal. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is exciting. The value and service are unbelievable.

We really wanted to love this cute little neighborhodd place that we would walk to once a week, but every time we've been there the food has been just tasteless - and absolutely swimming in oil. The flounder fillet was drenched, the crab stuffed shrimp was rubbery, and the pork leg seemed slightly burned. This is not fine dining - especially not by DC standards. The prices would be fine if the food was better but $20 or more per entree for this quality was shocking. It's too bad - this place has such charming ambience and great service. Unfortunately, even after our server told the manager the problems with our meals, he/she did not even bother to come see us. The server also didn't offer a substitute. As long as this chef is there we won't be returning.

I found this place by accident, trying to get to Rustico one night. It is just one street over and is illuminated by a misleading 'Dixie Pig BBQ' sign. The service is phenomenal and makes you feel like family. Get the sampler platter and especially enjoy the little meatballs. The meals are all pretty good, although I've been disappointed in the texture of the pasta in the past. The crab stuffed flounder is good, but hard to discern which is the flounder and which is the crab - it all sort of tasted and looked the same. There were little bones in it too. The athenian chicken is a hit, and follow the meal up with their un-pronouncable dessert. you'll know which one it is, and you'll love it. It's a bit pricey in the end, but you'll enjoy feeling like a local and surely won't leave disappointed.

They make my fav pizza - The Large Greek Vegetarian. The atmosphere is great, I've sat near the owner a bunch of times during lunch as he's spending time with his friends. It's a great vibe, and the wait staff is really cool. 10/10

Vaso's is a small charming treat with fine food and service to match. No trendy prices or attitudes. Genuinely friendly family kitchen. We'll be regulars. We had Athenian chicken whihc was jiucy and delicious. The special that day was was whole (almost picked free of bones) trout with crab. very good. You should do yourself a favour and try it.
