Friends were looking for someplace different to eat and we decided to try The Veranda. We loved the food, from the complimentary bread and olives to start, to the last morsels of dessert. The service did not match the delicious food. Despite a long wait [made easier by the bread and olives], and a reminder to the waitress, the appetizer did not arrive until after the main courses for two guests. The other guest started eating the appetizer, and then his meal was delivered a minute or so later. Despite this, and a few other service lapses, we are all eager to return for the wonderful food.

Logan Circle is just starting to get a influx of great neighborhood restaurants and Veranda is one of them. The food is good, not amazing, but what you go for is the great atmosphere. The servers and the bartenders are friendly. It's a little cramped, but it adds to the overall feel of the dining experience for a neighborhood that is becoming increasingly less transient.
